Taunton Coronation Celebration event is a weekend-long, outdoor, community event, celebrating King Charles III Coronation by aiming to bring together families, friends and groups from in and around Taunton to celebrate this historic occasion together. A giant screen will be installed in Castle Green, outside the Museum of Somerset, to live-stream the coronation on Saturday 6th May, and the music concert from Windsor Castle on Sunday 7th. Local talent from a wide range of musical and creative genres, including performing arts & dance groups, school and community choirs and instrumental groups, bands, and rock and pop acts will be showcased on a stage at the Castle Green ahead of the Windsor Castle party.
In addition to the above various youth, school, college and community groups and bands will play on the bandstand in Vivary Park on Sunday 7th May. A fleet of vintage vehicles provided by Taunton Historic Vehicle Group will be sited inside the main park arena, to provide a complementary backdrop to the celebrations.
